RESOLUTION NO.  2740

ESTABLISHING A NON-RESIDENT BEACH STICKER POLICY

 

WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Stamford to establish a non-resident beach sticker policy; and

 

WHEREAS, the Parks & Recreation Commission approved such a policy at its March 27, 2002 meeting.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Representatives of the City of Stamford, hereby approves the following policy:

 

A motor vehicle owned by a non-resident shall be permitted to enter upon or use the facilities of all beaches between Memorial Day and Labor Day provided that a beach sticker has been purchased and is affixed to the windshield of the vehicle.  The rate will be $150 per season for Monday through Friday access.  The rate will be $20 per day for Saturday and Sunday access or a fee of $25 for two consecutive days over a weekend.

 

These permits are to be sold only at the Office of Cashiering & Permitting.

 

This resolution will take effect upon enactment.

This resolution was approved by a machine vote of 27-5-1 at the regular monthly meeting of the 26th Board of Representatives held on Monday, May 6, 2002.
