Congratulating Sam Cingari
as the recipient of the 2002 Stamford Citizen of the Year Award
WHEREAS, Sam Cingari is a long-time Stamford resident and is the co-owner of the Shoprite and Grade A Markets in Stamford; and
WHEREAS, Sam Cingari will be honored as the 2002 Stamford Citizen of the Year by the Stamford Chapter of the Jewish War Veterans on April 17, 2002; and
WHEREAS, Sam Cingari has demonstrated extraordinary devotion, commitment, and compassion in serving the people of Stamford through his many years of public service including serving on the Board of Trustees for the Stamford Symphony and the Stamford Opera, as a member of the Board of Our Lady Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church, as an active supporter and donator to the Lower Fairfield County Food Bank, as a former member of the Board of Directors of St. Joseph’s Hospital and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Stamford YMCA; and
Sam Cingari has strived to make the Stamford community a better place to live
for all of its citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE be it resolved that the 26th Board of Representatives of the City of Stamford goes on official record extending its best wishes and congratulations to Sam Cingari for being selected to receive the 2002 Stamford Citizen of the Year Award.
